SEE Heritage network & Workshop Rijeka - Croatia

Meeting of the SEE Heritage network & Workshop, held in Rijeka, Croatia, on 23-25 April 2010

 On April 23th - 25th the 8th SEE Heritage Network meeting was held in Rijeka (Croatia). It was focused on the topic of Industrial Heritage, also known as Industrial Archaeology. The meeting was organised by Pro Torpedo Rijeka one of the Network’s NGO which had been organising parallel the 4th International Conference on Industrial Heritage. According to the purpose of International Conference the SEE Heritage Network members prepared posters reflecting on the industrial heritage of their countries.

The theme of the conference was “Cultural Landscapes and the Implementation of the European Landscape Convention in South East Europe – the Role of NGOs.“

SEE Heritage Network has managed up to now to bring together organizations of cultural heritage field from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania and Kosova.

SEE Heritage network & Workshop in Berat - Albania

Meeting of the SEE Heritage network & Workshop, held in Berat, Albania, on 21 – 23 June 2008

image012June 21st-23rd marked an exceptional meeting of cultural heritage NGOs working in the South-East European region.  Representatives hailing from 11 NGOs – Albanian National Trust, Butrint Foundation/Albanian Heritage Centre, and MJAFT! Movement from Albania; Cultural Heritage without Borders, Regional Office from Bosnia Herzegovina; PROTORPEDO from Croatia; EC MA NDRYSHE from Kosovo; Centre for Cultural Heritage Projektor, EXPEDITIO Center for Sustainable Spatial Development and Notar Center for Preservation and Promotion of Kotor Documentary Heritage from Montenegro; and FRACTAL and Civic and Association SUBURBIUM from Serbia– arrived in Berat, Albania on Saturday to kick off the fifth SEE (South-East European) Heritage Network meeting.

Meeting of the SEE Heritage network & Workshop, held in Kotor, Montenegro, on 8-10 February 2008

 The fourth meeting of the SEE Heritage network & Workshop “Devastation of Cultural Heritage” were held in Kotor, Montenegro, on 8-10 February 2008. The organizers of the event, on behalf of the SEE (South East European) Heritage network, were NGOs EXPEDITIO, Center for Sustainable Spatial Development and NOTAR, Center for Preservation and Promotion of Kotor Documentary Heritage from Kotor. The project was supported by FOSI (Foundation Open Society Institute) – Representative Office Montenegro, within the East East Program:Partnership Beyond Borders.

SEE Heritage network & Workshop in Ohrid - Macedonia

Meeting of the SEE Heritage network & Workshop, held in Ohrid, Macedonia, on 2-4 July 2007

A third meeting was held in Macedonia 2-4 July 2007, and organized by the Foundation Open Society Institute - Macedonia and supported by OSI (Open Society Institute) Network Program East-East: Partnership without Borders. The goal of the meeting was to discuss how member of the SEE Heritage network, through the further development of the network, could jointly contribute to the preservation and promotion of the region's rich cultural heritage as a tool for sustainable and responsible development.

SEE Heritage network & Workshop in Gjirokastra - Albania

Meeting of the SEE Heritage network & Workshop, held in Gjirokastra, Albania, on 6-10 December 2006

image019Already decided upon in Sarajevo, it was held in Gjirokastra in Albania in December 2006, hosted by Albanian NGOs MJAFT! and Albanian National Trust. The meeting was focused on strengthening the legal aspects of network, as well as on discussions on common projects, that could be done among NGOs on bilateral, trilateral, etc. and regional level. 

During the meeting, the main tasks of the network were defined:

SEE Heritage network & Workshop in Sarajevo - Bosnia and Herzegovina

image021It was organized in September 2006 in Sarajevo, where 12 NGOs, together with representatives of CHwB, signed a document on commitment to develop and strengthen the NGO Regional Network called SEE Heritage (where SEE stands for South East Europe, and also to SEE-look at heritage).
